Farewell and Thanks for your Support!
Silver Angels for the Elderly, nonprofit, is so grateful for the “Angels” support as they share God’s love and joy with the residents at Ivy Court and LaCrosse rehabilitation centers. The residents are always so grateful to be remembered on their birthday and holidays with celebrations and gifts. Our Angel Buddies who visit residents, expressed how they are as blessed as well as the resident they
visit. Listening to a lonely resident’s life stories with a caring heart is truly a gift. The Angels’ desire to make the residents lives better with visitation, celebrations or gifts has been the desire of all Silver Angels who give so generously of their time and talents.
Silver Angels has distributed 500 personalized birthday presents, 550 Christmas presents and over $5,000 in gift cards to caregivers and staff at Christmas. We celebrated almost all holidays with cards, gifts and cakes.
It’s with a heavy heart that Silver Angels for the Elderly will be dissolving as of 12/31/23 after 5 years of dedication to those who are isolated and often forgotten in rehabilitation facilities. Due to issues with recruiting board members and coordinators, we are not able to continue this much-loved ministry as a nonprofit. Most of the Angels want to continue this ministry so we will be transitioning into a social group called “Silver Angels”. Details will be worked out at our January meeting. If you would like to join us in this important ministry, please send an email to cda62vette@gmail.com. You can find us on Facebook as well.
We have been purchasing memorable items, determined by the input we get from residents and facilitators at the afore-mentioned facilities. Our last event will be Christmas at both facilities with cards and gifts for the 150 residents delivered by Santa. The Lake City Tappers provide toe tapping entertainment.
The assets that remain will be donated to One More Time and Hayden Sr. Center. Material items that we have stored for birthdays and holidays will be donated to the facilities and to Newby-ginnings. On behalf of our board and myself, we are so blessed that our volunteers and sponsors have made Silver Angels for the Elderly a success – which is measured with the smiles we bring to the isolated residents.
Thank you,
Diane Zell, President

Volunteer to Help Lonely Seniors
Silver Angels for the Elderly is always seeking volunteers to help find more ways we can enhance the lives of those who feel lonely.
So many residents in senior living facilities have no family and no visitors. The “Angels” mission is to let them know that they are cherished and loved.
Please join our mission by emailing cda62vette@gmail.com.
